TURNING TOWARD THE SUN: A Benefit For Young Cancer Survivors

ARTIST SHOWCASE SUPPORTS LOST GENERATION OF CANCER SURVIVORS AND THEIR CAREGIVERS

Local Singer-Songwriter and recent cancer survivor Brandon Schott celebrates the release of his 3rd LP, "DANDELION" with a special evening of entertainment

LOS ANGELES, CA - November 17, 2009 - NEARBY SOCKET ENTERTAINMENT together with the I'm Too Young For This! Cancer Foundation (i[2]y) will be celebrating the release of local troubadour Brandon Schott's 3rd album "DANDELION" by hosting a special evening of music and entertainment.

"Turning Toward the Sun: A Benefit For Young Cancer Survivors" will be held at Molly Mallone's (575 South Fairfax Avenue, Los Angeles CA) on December 18, 2009 at 7:00PM. Tickets will be $10 dollars at the door and in advance (with FREE entry for young adult cancer survivors and patients) and proceeds will benefit i[2]y.

This variety show-themed event features a talent lineup of young adult cancer survivors and advocates and will showcase performances by Brandon Schott, Tony B, Steve Wallack and special guests (echo echo). This is in addition to a silent auction, door prizes, a special presentation by the Los Angeles chapter of i[2]y.

Dandelion's 13 tracks, recorded in a local Glendale church over three months from November 2008, span the one year anniversary of Brandon's diagnosis, treatment and recovery from a stage three germ cell tumor. "With the love and support of my family and community, I'm proud to be sharing this very special night with my peers and friends at i[2]y," says Brandon.

"It is an honor and privilege to be a part of an event such as this," says Zachary. "As a fellow young adult musician and cancer survivor, I cannot stress the value of creative expression in the face of adversity. This event is just one example of how young adults with cancer get busy living."
