FOUR WINDS

when I was young we lived from town to town
saw the world as a haze on speeding ground
daddy drove while momma held the map
& my sister and I slept safely in the back

keeping close through the great unknown
headed wherever the four winds blow

i couldn't stop the tears when times were bad
but maybe I made you smile or made you laugh
and tight and true we made it through the years
cuz everything we learned has brought us here

proud to help each other grow
carried wherever the four winds blow

I'm writing to you now, on a Sunday far away
as I dream away the miles
it's almost like you're here, face to face
to hear me say…

i wanna thank you all for everything
for giving me the strength to stand and sing
now I've got a family of my own
three going strong and another one in tow

proudly serving the world we know
sailing wherever the four winds blow
