BLUE STAR HIGHWAY
there is a desert flame I keep near
in our city of angels and fear
this town will drive your faith into the ground
if you let your spirit down
here our stars are veiled behind a haze
that keeps the clear sky from our days
I hold the soul of my family to heart
for these sorrows to depart
but there is relief not far away
turns the night time into day
down the blue star highway
a dream of white stars fill the night sky
burning brighter than the ones in my eyes
I'll watch the soft light glow upon my skin
till the morning heat pours in
down at the shack there's breakfast with a smile
cuz she knows we're set to stay a while
all the silk roses hand made with love and care
line up her window boxes there
and in the comfort of this place
my belly full, the distance is stayed
down the blue star highway
there lived a grievous angel full of song
was never meant to stay with us long
he took that ride as fast as it would go
straight to a motel by the side of the road
but I don't wanna fall through all my days
so let my love burn strong and safe
down the blue star highway
